ANCE, Villa Azadi (Reception Centre for underage undocumented migrants), UNHCR and the University of the Aegean are holding a 2day event for the celebration of the “World Refugee Day” on the 19th and 20th of June 2010, at Mytilini, Lesvos island. The aim of the event is to inform the local community about the Greek and European asylum policies and to promote initiatives undertaken by different bodies for the integration of refugees into the Greek society. The event is organized with the support of the Municipality of Mytilini, in the framework of the EU funded project “Yourope for Rights: Active citizenship in Europe between human rights and immigration policies” (Europe for Citizens - Measure 2.1: Citizens' projects), which is implemented by ANCE in cooperation with organisations from Germany, Italy, Poland, and Slovenia.
