BestBonds – extending the competences of adult educators

The BestBonds project aimed at extending and developing the competencies of educators and other personnel who support adult learners. The first beneficiaries of this project, therefore, was the educators of the involved organizations and, in consequence, thanks to what the partnership liked to call the waterfall effect, the learners received a better teaching approach. The organizations involved put together their particular skills and competencies in order for their partners to be better trained in teaching and addressing those different categories of learners, sharing good practices according to one's area of specialization.

The project also intended to achieve better social inclusion and equity. Adult educators, teachers, and lecturers are now able to deal with difficult scenarios, addressing people of different backgrounds, experiences, and characteristics. The expected result was the creation of new humane and unifying teaching methods that, thanks to what educators understood from sharing good practices with other countries, made learning more effective, inclusive, entertaining, stimulating, and pleasant for all kinds of learners, reducing or eliminating the possibility of social exclusion, disrespect or discrimination. The teachers are now able to break down most of the barriers normally associated with adult education, but also combat the ones created by the COVID-19 pandemic, ergo, the challenges of digital-based education.

BestBonds was moreover going to create innovative practices in a digital era. All the national/European organizations dealing with adult education took great advantage of the knowledge, competencies, skills, tools, and methods intended to disseminate thanks to the Online Learning Space we aimed to create and a Tool Box consisting of various useful materials for the educators (videos, guidelines, lesson plans). This project was intended to be innovative and to use ICT and new technologies in order to transmit to learner’s digital competencies.

The project started in November 2020 and ended in October 2022.

It was funded by Erasmus+ Programme and implemented by: European Youth Centre – ECM (Poland), ANCE (Greece), Mundus Bulgaria, DANTE (Croatia) and CCIF Cyprus.
