"In a cooperative atmosphere I met the ANCE team. We discussed the services we offer at Velos Youth Center and ANCE's partnership programs. We shared our experience on the issues faced by young refugees and migrants in Athens. We closed our meeting having a better understanding of the actions that each of us is carrying out and agreed on mutual support for the actions we carry out in the future".
Thank you Thodoris!
It was a pleasure meeting Velos Youth and its actions through Thodoris Kafounis, social worker of the organization.
During our meeting on 3/11/23 at our premises, the challenges faced by young people aged 16-30 with a migrant or refugee background were discussed in depth. In addition, we focused on the issue of homelessness and how it affects the process of social inclusion. Moreover, we discussed the challenges faced by the target group in cases with multiple vulnerabilities (e.g. refugee woman, migrant with disabilities, refugee/migrant LGBTQ+).
A common conclusion was that as a whole we can achieve more than we can individually. By setting this as a basic principle of our actions and projects, we have jointly committed ourselves to supporting the actions of our organizations.
