Requirements:
Qualifications and skills required:
- At least a Master’s Degree in development, social/ political science, public policy or other relevant field related to this assignment; or, in its absence, equivalent professional experience of 7 years.
General professional experience:
- At least 6 years professional experience in the design or management of projects in the fields of youth empowerment, participation and youth inclusion or other field relevant to this assignment.
Specific professional experience:
- At least 6 years of professional experience in implementing strategies and projects (including capacity building) targeting youth in at least two of the following thematic areas; (i) gender and women empowerment, (ii) climate smart agriculture and natural resources management, (iii) health and addressing vulnerabilities, (iv) human rights and good governance.
- Research, reporting writing, networking and communications competencies
Language skills:
- Good knowledge of English and understanding of Amharic.
The following knowledge and experience will constitute additional assets:
- Experience as social entrepreneur, educator, trainer, grassroots youth worker is an asset.
- Knowledge of the Ethiopian context (previous work experience in Ethiopia) focusing on youth empowerment.
- Skills in Communication and visibility strategies and management of the social media.
