EVENT: tales from the street | Empowerment approaches to tackling homelessness!

[:en]On the 23nd of November ANCE attended an emotionally intense event, which exposed aspects of the harsh reality.
The event “Tales from the streets | Empowerment approaches to tackling homelessness! ” was a regional action of the Active Citizens Fund Programme in Greece and Poland, with the Bodossaki Foundation and SolidarityNow as Grant Manager for Greece and the Stefan Batory Foundation as a member of the Consortium of Grant Managers for Poland.

During the event, the issue of homelessness in Greece and the groups of population that are most affected were analyzed, while the relevant work and actions of state agencies and street-work CSOs were presented. Participants from other countries shared good practices in dealing with homelessness and providing support to people experiencing it.

The testimonies of people who have experienced homelessness were compelling. They reminded us that we can all potentially find ourselves in this situation – for many different reasons.
Homeless people exist and should not remain invisible to the state and society. Stereotypes that follow them prevent them from being given a second chance in life, therefore they must be combated.

Σε μία γεμάτη με συναισθηματική φόρτιση εκδήλωση, με εικόνες μιας σκληρής πραγματικότητας, παραβρέθηκε η ANCE στις 23.11.23.
Η εκδήλωση “Τales from the street | Empowerment approaches to tackling homelessness!” ήταν μια περιφερειακή δράση των προγραμμάτων Active citizens fund Ελλάδας και Πολωνίας, με Διαχειριστή Επιχορήγησης για την Ελλάδα το Ίδρυμα Μποδοσάκη και το SolidarityNow και το ‘Ιδρυμα Stefan Batory, ως μέλος της κοινοπραξίας Διαχειριστών Επιχορήγησης για την Πολωνία.
Κατά τη διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης, αναλύθηκε το ζήτημα της αστεγίας στην Ελλάδα και οι πληθυσμοί που βάλλονται περισσότερο από αυτήν, ενώ παρουσιάστηκε το έργο και οι δράσεις κρατικών φορέων αλλά και Οργανώσεων της Κοινωνίας των Πολιτών που «εργάζονται στο δρόμο» προς εξυπηρέτηση των άστεγων ατόμων. Οι συμμετέχοντες από άλλες χώρες μοιράστηκαν μαζί μας καλές πρακτικές αντιμετώπισης της αστεγίας και της ολιστικής υποστήριξης των ατόμων που βρίσκονται σε αυτή τη συνθήκη.
Οι εμπειρίες ατόμων που πέρασαν από τη συνθήκη της αστεγίας ήταν καθηλωτικές και μας υπενθύμισαν ότι όλοι μπορεί εν δυνάμει να βρεθούμε σε αυτή τη θέση – για διαφορετικό λόγο ο καθένας.
Οι άστεγοι δεν είναι και δεν πρέπει να παραμένουν αόρατοι από το κράτος και την κοινωνία, ενώ τα στερεότυπα που τους ακολουθούν και εμποδίζουν στο να τους δοθεί μια δεύτερη ευκαιρία ζωής πρέπει να καταπολεμηθούν.
Εμείς στην ANCE θα δουλέψουμε με όσα μέσα έχουμε στη διάθεσή μας προς αυτή την κατεύθυνση.
