CooL was an international project that aimed at raising the awareness of young people – the web 2.0 and internet generation in particular – in Germany, Greece, Italy and Latvia and the EU in general, on the protection of the environment, climate change issues and renewable energy in relation to their lifestyles.
By making use of new media and the internet, young people from different countries worked together in order to promote sustainable lifestyles and climate protection.
2 virtual competitions launched during the project. Competitors expected to submit multimedia works (such as radio reports, radio spots, video spots, short films, cell phone spots, weblogs, flash animations, web-based comics) that contained ideas, messages, information etc. about sustainable lifestyles and climate protection.
The selected works exhibited in virtual festivals and disseminated widely.
The project initiated an intercultural learning process on issues which are relevant for all European youth and which will be of crucial importance in the near future and thus an important area for young people to take action and shape their future.
The project implemented with the financial support of the European Commission (Youth in Action Programme, Action 4.5).

Το CooL ήταν ένα διεθνές πρόγραμμα που είχε ως στόχο να ευαισθητοποιήσει τους νέους ανθρώπους – ειδικά τη γενιά του web 2.0 και του internet – στη Γερμανία, Ελλάδα, Ιταλία, Λετονία και την ΕΕ γενικότερα, όσον αφορά την προστασία του περιβάλλοντος, την κλιματική αλλαγή και τις ανανεώσιμες πηγές ενέργειας σε σχέση με τον τρόπο ζωής τους.
Χρησιμοποιώντας νέα μέσα και το internet, νέοι άνθρωποι από διαφορετικές χώρες εργάστηκαν μαζί για την προώθηση του βιώσιμου τρόπου ζωής και της προστασίας του κλίματος.
2 εικονικοί διαγωνισμοί (on-line) διοργανώθηκαν στη διάρκεια του έργου. Οι συμμετέχοντες έπρεπε να καταθέσουν έργα multimedia (όπως radio reports, radio spots, video spots, short films, cell phone spots, weblogs, flash animations, web-based comics) που περιελάμβαναν ιδέες, μηνύματα, πληροφορίες, κλπ σχετικά με το βιώσιμο τρόπο ζωής και την προστασία του κλίματος. Τα έργα που επιλέχθηκαν, προβλήθηκαν σε εικονικά φεστιβάλ.
Το έργο αποτέλεσε έναυσμα για μία διαδικασία διαπολιτισμικής μάθησης σε θέματα που αφορούν την Ευρωπαϊκή νεολαία και που στο εγγύς μέλλον θα αποκτήσουν πολύ μεγάλη σημασία καθώς και ένα σημαντικό τομέα στον οποίο οι νέοι άνθρωποι πρέπει να αναλάβουν δράση και να καθορίσουν το μέλλον τους.
Το έργο υλοποιήθηκε με τη συγχρηματοδότηση της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής (Πρόγραμμα Νέα Γενιά σε Δράση, Δράση 4.5).
