V.O.I.C.E: Values Of Inclusion, Citizenship and Engagement

The V.O.I.C.E project, under the CERV programme, fosters active European citizenship among young people aged 18–35, particularly those with migrant or second-generation backgrounds and especially women, who often face greater barriers to civic participation. In response to declining political engagement and growing distrust in institutions, the project reconnects youth with democratic life through inclusive, community-based initiatives and intercultural dialogue.

The project will run for 18 months and is implemented by partners from Italy, Greece, and Bulgaria. The project promotes civic inclusion through thematic community events; it addresses three core themes—gender equality, environmental responsibility, and social inclusion, with activities developed and deployed at local and EU levels.

Key activities include a women’s testimonials video showcasing how second-generation women perceive the role of politics at local, national, and European levels and the state of women’s representation in institutions; a digital guide, “Your VOICE in Europe,” offering tools and testimonies to foster active citizenship; a final documentary video, “One VOICE, Many Stories,” capturing youth engagement journeys; “Seeds of VOICE,” a call for ideas supporting post-project sustainability and community-led initiatives; and multiple reports produced throughout the project, summarizing insights and outcomes from the online workshops, webinars and local activities.

Expected results include increased civic awareness and engagement among young people with migrant backgrounds; strengthened transnational cooperation and exchange of good practices; and a replicable model for inclusive, participatory democracy across Europe.
