Elaboration d’un Profil Pays Genre RDC (FWC SIEA 2018 – LOT 4: Human Development And Safety Net)

Gender mainstreaming, a guiding principle for all areas of the EU intervention, helps to strengthen the “Women, Peace and Security” agenda in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Taking into account the importance of political dialogue also makes it possible to sensitize institutional partners with a gender perspective, particularly at the legislative level.

Despite the efforts that have been made, gender inequality continues to persist in all areas of development. The EU’s cooperation experience highlights various measures to promote female entrepreneurship. While taking into consideration the specificities of the DRC, the mission will particularly support those making it possible to fight against gender discrimination, to promote equal opportunities between men and women, by eliminating cultural and institutional barriers to entrepreneurship, and by implementing policies to strengthen the participation of women in the economy.
