The Don’t (meno) PAUSE project empowers menopausal women (ages 40–60) through physical activity and digital community-building. It unites six partners from Croatia, the Netherlands, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Italy, and Ukraine to break stigma, improve well-being, and promote sustainable health practices through sport.
The project will run for 30 months and combines research, training, awareness-raising, and community-based activities to improve physical and mental well-being during menopause. It promotes inclusive participation in sport, encourages peer learning, and supports local organisations in developing women-friendly health initiatives.
Don’t (meno) PAUSE develops an innovative, evidence-based model that combines sport, digital learning, and community engagement to improve women’s health and well-being during menopause. It produces a digital handbook compiling real-life experiences of women from six European countries as a basis for awareness and education; creates 20 expert-led video modules on exercise, nutrition, and emotional health to strengthen physical and mental resilience; and designs the interactive “MenoTalks” platform to enable dialogue, peer learning, and online support among women and professionals. The project also pilots its approach through community-based “Sport in Menopause” events in all partner countries, reaching over 150 women, fostering body confidence, social connection, and positive attitudes toward menopause, while building the foundation for future scale-up and sustainability across Europe.
Target groups include menopausal women (40–60 years old), health and sport professionals, trainers, and local organisations active in women’s empowerment and health promotion.
Expected results include improved health literacy and physical activity among participants; increased social inclusion and peer support for menopausal women; enhanced gender equality in sport; and the creation of a sustainable, transferable model for promoting women’s well-being through sport and technology.
